- Accra is the capital and largest city of Ghana,
with an estimated urban population of 2.27
million as of 2012. - It is also the capital of the Greater Accra
Region and of the Accra Metropolitan District,
with which it is coterminous.

5Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park
- A national park erected in memory of Osagyefo
(the Messiah) Doctor Kwame Nkrumah, Ghanas first
president and one of its founding fathers. - Built on a former British polo field, it was the
point where Nkrumah declared independence in
1957.
6Aburi Botanical Gardens
- Aburi Botanical Gardens is a botanical garden in
Aburi in Eastern region of South Ghana. - The garden occupies an area of 64.8 hectares. It
was opened in March, 1890.
7Cathedral Church of the Most Holy Trinity
- The Holy Trinity Cathedral is an Anglican church
in Accra, Ghana. Completed in 1894, it is part of
the Anglican Diocese of Accra. - In 1909, the building was deemed a Cathedral
upon the creation of the Diocese of Accra.
8James Town Lighthouse
- Located directly east of the Korle Lagoon,
Jamestown and Usshertown are the oldest districts
in the city of Accra, Ghana. - These districts were heavily developed by the
end of the 19th century, and following the rapid
growth of the city during the 20th century, they
became areas of a dense mixture of commercial and
residential use.
9The National Theatre of Ghana
- The National Theatre, opened in 1992 and located
in the Victoriaborg district of Accra, Ghana, was
built by the Chinese and offered as a gift to
Ghana. - The Theatre is governed by the National Theatre
law 1991, PNDC Law 259.
10Wheel Story House
- In Ghana, one man's trash isn't just another
man's treasureone man used that waste to build
the largest and oldest house made from recycled
and reclaimed material in West Africa. - The Wheel Story House recently opened for public
tours earlier this year.
