- Faculty/Advisor Communication Tool
- Replaces the former Early Warning systems
- Expanded functionality to allow for more than
just warnings - Cases are submitted by course instructors for

- Attendance reports
- Progress reports
- Consists of two applications
- Faculty web application
- SFDC for advisors

- All of my courses
- All of the active enrolled students for my
courses - Pictures for students who have not opted out
- All of my previously submitted cases
- Communication from advisors on submitted cases
5How do I log in?
- Navigate to fact.neu.edu
- Enter your MyNEU username and password
- Optional Create a bookmark or a shortcut for
easy use!
6Navigationgt Review the main course menu
- Log in as directed on the previous slide
- Review the list of courses you are teaching this
term - Note the action icon associated with each course
- A red triangle indicates that an action is needed
- Review the date of your last action and the
number of students with cases

- To indicate that a course does not have cases
- Click the No Cases button next to the
Course/Section - The action icon will change to a green check
- The number of students with cases will update to
indicate that there are no cases - The date will update to todays date
- Note You will be able to log cases for this
course later in the term if needed

- Click the Submit Cases button to navigate to
your course roster - All enrolled students will display for your course

- Click the camera icon to display a picture for
students who have opted in - View the list of athletes
10Submitting Casesgt Select students
- Select one or more students to log cases for by
checking the box in the New Case column - Optionally, choose all athletes to log progress
reports - Click Next to continue to the new case screen

- The case entry screen will display the first
selected student - Note your progress
- Complete the appropriate fields
- Described on the next slide
- Click SUBMIT and Next Case to submit this case
and move to the next one - The advisor, and optionally the student, will
receive email notifications of the new case - Click SKIP and Next Case to move to the next
case without submitting the current one - Click Cancel to return to the main menu without
submitting the current case - Any previously submitted cases will not be
cancelled - Do NOT use the Back button

- Poor or declining performance
- Difficulty with course work or exams
- Difficulties with tardiness, class preparation,
attendance, etc
- An update on a student athlete
- An update to the DRC advisors
- Never attended class
- Stopped attending class
- Sporadically attends class
For each case, choose a Type value above. Follow
the field guidelines below to complete the case
details.
- Concerned with Grade (or with Failing) Select
these boxes if there is a concern with the
overall grade in the course, or of failure - Grade to Date Select a value to alert the
advisor of the current grade - Areas of Concern Select the appropriate
checkboxes that indicate your concerns. Please
expand on these selections in the Comments field - Suggestions section Select the appropriate
checkboxes as needed. Please expand on these
selection and any other suggestions you may have
in the Suggestions field
- Never Attended Select this box to indicate the
student never attended the course - Stopped Attending Select this box to indicate
the student is no longer regularly attending the
course - Stopped Attending On If the student has stopped
attending, fill in the date of the first missed
course. If the exact date is not known,
approximate - Other Complete any other fields described under
the Warning section as appropriate. This
information will be used by the advisor to
counsel the student
- Grade to Date Progress reports are used
periodically for updates on certain students.
Select a value to alert the advisor of the
current grade - Comments If there is additional data to report,
use the comments field for free text entry - Other Complete any other fields described under
the Warning section as appropriate. This

13Submitting Casesgt Completing the process
- Once you have completed submitting cases, review
the information displayed on the screen - The course will be updated to display the number
of cases submitted and the current date - Click the Submit Cases button to log additional
cases - Click the Review Submitted Cases link to review
all cases submitted for this course

14Reviewing Casesgt View a summary listing of cases
- The list of courses will be displayed with the
summary of the number of students with cases and
the date of the last action
- Expand the icon next to a course to view the
summary of submitted cases - Click on the Case Date to view the full details
of the submitted cases and the information
submitted by the advisor
15Reviewing Casesgt View the case details
- Review the information you filled in when
submitting the case - The bottom section will display information
completed by the advisor, including free text
entered
