- To convene, facilitate and incubate regional
stakeholders to use health information technology
to improve the quality of care delivered by
providing necessary information at the point of
care. - Patient data will be used for treatment and other
uses as permitted by HIPAA - Focus on Tennessees 95 counties - Urban and
Rural - Secondary focus on contiguous states, especially
contiguous counties

a Data Sharing Agreement with any other health
data source on the network in order to share

6Tennessee Physician Connectivity Grants 2008
- Grants to TN licensed Practitioners who are
licensed to prescribe - Free connectivity and authentication to the
eHealth Network - Up to 3,500 per eligible Prescriber
- Up to 2,500 per Physician Assistance and
Advanced Practice Nurses with Certificate to
Prescribe medication - Funds to cover PCs, equipment, peripherals,
software and services related to health
information technology - Education opportunities to aid in the adoption of
the new technology into daily workflow - Disbursed as reimbursement for actual costs
- Grants to TN Independent Pharmacies
- Funds to purchase or turn on ePrescribing
software - Education opportunities to aid in the adoption of

- Requirements for Prescribers
- Connect to eHealth Network and use
HIPAA-compliant authentication - ePrescribe for 2 years
- Participate in educational seminars about
ePrescribing and eHealth Network - Look up TennCare patients for Wellness and EPSDT
compliance - ePrescribing application must be
SureScripts/RxHub certified - Any EMR applications purchased with grant funds
must be CCHIT certified - Requirements for Pharmacies
- Defined as Independent Pharmacy by TN Board of
Pharmacy - Unable to receive ePrescriptions from prescribers
- Participate in educational seminars about
ePrescribing and eHealth Network
