Our Focus
  • To convene, facilitate and incubate regional
    stakeholders to use health information technology
    to improve the quality of care delivered by
    providing necessary information at the point of
    care.
  • Patient data will be used for treatment and other
    uses as permitted by HIPAA
  • Focus on Tennessees 95 counties - Urban and
    Rural
  • Secondary focus on contiguous states, especially
    contiguous counties

  • Offers an opportunity for providers to enter into
    a Data Sharing Agreement with any other health
    data source on the network in order to share
    clinical information
  • Allows providers to do secure messaging and file
    sharing with any other authenticated provider on
    the network

    Organizations RHIOs and Health Information
    Exchanges HIE

Tennessee Physician Connectivity Grants 2008
  • Grants to TN licensed Practitioners who are
    licensed to prescribe
  • Free connectivity and authentication to the
    eHealth Network
  • Up to 3,500 per eligible Prescriber
  • Up to 2,500 per Physician Assistance and
    Advanced Practice Nurses with Certificate to
    Prescribe medication
  • Funds to cover PCs, equipment, peripherals,
    software and services related to health
    information technology
  • Education opportunities to aid in the adoption of
    the new technology into daily workflow
  • Disbursed as reimbursement for actual costs
  • Grants to TN Independent Pharmacies
  • Funds to purchase or turn on ePrescribing
    software
  • Education opportunities to aid in the adoption of
    the new technology into daily workflow
  • Disbursed as reimbursement for actual costs

Grant Requirements
  • Requirements for Prescribers
  • Connect to eHealth Network and use
    HIPAA-compliant authentication
  • ePrescribe for 2 years
  • Participate in educational seminars about
    ePrescribing and eHealth Network
  • Look up TennCare patients for Wellness and EPSDT
    compliance
  • ePrescribing application must be
    SureScripts/RxHub certified
  • Any EMR applications purchased with grant funds
    must be CCHIT certified
  • Requirements for Pharmacies
  • Defined as Independent Pharmacy by TN Board of
    Pharmacy
  • Unable to receive ePrescriptions from prescribers
  • Participate in educational seminars about
    ePrescribing and eHealth Network
