    something new!

What We Learned. . .
  • Jason - I not only learned how to build a
website, but how to work together to create
something great. What was cool about the group
was that each person had their own role in making
the website and even though some still had more
technical skills than the others, we still
managed to come together to produce a great
website that we all had a part in. Working with
front-page helped me to see the different steps
it takes to develop a website. Working in
Angelfire helped me to see that making a website
is really easy to do and creating something such
as our website is something fun and creative.
  • Shawna - I learned a great deal about FrontPage
and web page design in general. This project
helped us assign certain tasks to group members,
which in turn made each individual make their
part a priority because someone elses part
    depended on them.
  • Sara - Not having prior experience with building
a web site I learned all the different aspects
that go into creating a functioning web site from
setting up the navigation structure to publishing
it to the web. Another aspect I learned from
working on this project is that it is difficult
to have six people working on one web site.
Different aspects of the web site can be divided
up between group members, but it is still hard to
put everything back together without messing up
    the web site.

What We Learned. . .
  • Jeff - Microsoft FrontPage has good web
components and the templates speed up the process
of designing and developing a website. The
templates do not look good though. Angelfire.com
free hosting is a joke. So I recommend not using
their free service and find other means to
    publish your website.
  • Joe - While the free 20MB of web space may seem
    attractive, Angelfires restricted web
    permissions, extreme latency, and countless
pop-up ads make it the epitome of disgust for any
company using its site hosting services. Many web
components, such as search and indexing features
simply do not work well through their current
    server configuration. Angelfires embedded page
advertisements only serve to deface hosted
websites, and in some cases, overwrite existing
    images with ads.
  • Cacilia - I've learned that I don't like
FrontPage. I think it would be more beneficial
for the class to learn basic html code. It would
be nice if the school would offer another
alternative to FrontPage such as Dream Weaver
which I find more prevalent in the business
    world.
