18Public Participation
- The public has been a part of planning the
Haigler Canyon Recreation Site project since
October, 2005, when public scoping started the
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process.
- The public was supportive of the efforts to
improve the site throughout the planning and
development phases. - It was made clear in all correspondence and
publications that a fee for use of the finished
site was planned to provide partial funding for
the operation and maintenance of the new
facilities.
