Time Line of Actions
  • September 2007 - Federal Highway Administration
    recommends to conduct additional inspection
    following I-35 Minneapolis Bridge failure.
  • November 2007 US Army Corps hires Dr. Keating
    to conduct inspection on Summit Bridge, a steel
    cantilever truss bridges similar in construction
    to I-35 Bridge.
  • March 2008 - A temporary clamp assembly followed
    by a permanent replacement should be installed at
    both bearings as soon as possible.
  • April 2008 - Corps begins design to award
    contract by the end of the fiscal year (September
    2008).
