What is a SIM card and why would I need one? A
Fortress SIM card turns your alarm system into a
cellular phone, and gives it the ability to make
calls to any phone on any provider. With an
active SIM card in your alarm system, you can -
Call and/or text multiple numbers when an alarm
is triggered. - Control your Total Security
system via the free mobile app. - Call over the
phone and control your system from
anywhere. (Without an active SIM card, your
system will still function as a local alarm.)

What does the Fortress SIM Service
include? We've designed the Fortress SIM Service
to be the perfect-fit solution for customers with
Fortress Security Alarm Systems. The service
includes 200 minutes of talk and text (in any
combination) for 90 days. Any minutes remaining
at the end of 89 days will roll over into the
next billing cycle, and minutes never expire! The
service is designed so that customers with valid
payment information on file will never run out of
minutes. If the alarm is not actively using any
calling or texting features, then no minutes are
being used.

What if I already have a Fortress system without
a SIM card? You can take advantage of the
discount code "FREESIM2016" during checkout
to get your SIM card for free This code is only
valid through the end of June, so take advantage
of this special offer today!   How much is the
service? The charge for the service is 7.99 per
month, billed in advance, in 3-month increments.
There is also a one-time activation fee of
9.99. If the SIM card runs out of available
minutes before the 90-day billing cycle is over,
then the card will be automatically reloaded with
another 200 minutes at that time, and the new
90-day billing cycle will begin on the date the
card was reloaded. Your credit card will be
charged at that time, as well. Otherwise, your
card will be charged on the 89th day of the
billing cycle to ensure there is no gap in
service. 200 minutes will be added to the balance
on the SIM card and the next billing cycle will
begin.

3 - Power cycle your main panel after
activation. To perform a power cycle, folllow
the steps below - Turn off the panel's power
switch, and unplug the power cable.- Wait 30
seconds with the main panel completely powered
down.- Plug the power cable back in, and then
turn the panel's power switch back on. Your SIM
service is now active, and you're ready to start
using the system!   What if I change my mind or
want to cancel service? You may cancel service
at any time by contacting our Support team
directly. The SIM card would continue to function
until the end of that 90-day billing period, or
until all remaining minutes on the card were
used, whichever comes first.
