Hoverboards

  • OK, so while hoverboards are quite simple to
understand, if youre thinking of buying one, you
really should read this article because it will
provide you with some helpful tips and advice.
Before you run out and buy any old board, find
out a little more about them
  •
  • They dont hoveryep, thats right. Everyone
that hears the term hoverboard usually comes
over with a feeling of awesomeness the future is
now. It isnt. These boards do not actually
hover, and a more accurate name for them would be
self electric balancing scooter. They are
basically two wheels with a platform in between.
You move forward by leaning forward, stop by
leaning back, and move side to side by leaning to
the side you want to move towards. The board
itself is self-balancing, so it will keep you
upright. It does take some getting used to,
because you have to allow it to do its job
    properly.

  • Theyre illegal for use on public roads and
    pavements. Fortunately/unfortunately, depending
on your point of view, they arent allowed on
public roads or footpaths. However, you can ride
them on private property, and country parks seem
to be pretty much OK with them. Its because
theyre unregulated that they are not allowed on
the roads. If they required a licence, it would
be a different story, but for now, theyre too
dangerous for use around cars and pedestrians.
  • Some brands are better than others are.As with
most things, some brands are better than others
are. Before you go and buy any old self electric
balancing scooter, do a bit of research and find
out which are the good brands. Dont buy them off
the Sunday market, or anywhere dodgy, but from a
    reputable seller.

  • You need to buy the correct size for your
weight. The larger you are, the larger the wheels
will need to be. In the past, people have assumed
that its a one size fits all type of deal. It
isnt. You need to choose the appropriate scooter
for your weight. The retailer will be happy to
help you to work out which this is for you.
  •
  • The bigger the wheels, the better they are off
    road.Generally speaking, the bigger wheeled
scooters are intended for off road use. They are
more expensive, but youll also get more use out
of them as you can ride them through the country
    park trails.
  •
  • We hope that you now have a better idea about the
type of things you need to consider when buying a
self-balancing scooter. If you'd like further
help and advice though, please visit
