  • Parking sensors are a great addition to any car.
They can really make a lot of difference to your
driving experience, particularly if youre a
somewhat nervous driver (or parker, to be
precise). Its important that you understand how
to choose the right parking sensor for your
requirements, and we are going to teach you how
to do this during the course of this article.
  •
  • The BrandThe first thing that you should do is
research various brands. Stick with the known
brands, because while they aren't necessarily
better than non-branded versions, you do have a
certain guarantee that they at least work well
enough. Brands would quickly lose their
reputation if they sold us dud products.
  • The Type of VehicleThis is the first thing to
consider. You need to buy the correct kit for the
car. Some sensors are suited to specific
vehicles, while others are suited to other types
of vehicle. For example, a bullet sensor for
placement in the bumper is suitable for a car,
but it is NOT suitable for a van. This is because
the sensor does not have much length when placed
at bumper level, and a van has a much greater
length in its blind spot than a car has.

Another example is that some sensors, such as
ultrasonic, cannot sense past objects like tow
bars. If you have a tow bar, you would not use an
ultrasonic sensor. Instead, you would use an
electromagnetic sensor.   Ultrasonic
Electromagnetic Sensors These are the two key
differences between the various reversing sensors
on the market. Theyre easy to understand
Ultrasonic these send out soundwaves and then
take measurements of how long it takes the sound
waves to bounce back. They bounce back when they
hit an object. The sooner the bounce back, the
closer the object is to the car. As the object
approaches, they emit a beep the closer the
object, the faster the beeps.

  • Electromagnetic this creates an electromagnetic
umbrella over the car. It senses when objects
come close or enter the umbrella. These are good
because you can use them with vehicles that have
added extras, such as the tow bar or a trailer
you simply set the umbrella further away.
  •
  • The majority of reversing sensors, whether
ultrasonic or electromagnetic, now come with a
display that gives you the measurement of how far
the closet object is from the car. For example,
it can tell you if its 1, 2, or 3 meters away.
This allows you to park with great precision.
  •
  • Parking sensors are a great addition for any
vehicle as they make you a safer driver. They can
also have additional benefits, such as reducing
    your car insurance premiums.
