The bar at home is an interior design trend that
is catching a lot of attention of the homeowners.
It is one of the most common home décor trends
that is there these days include a small bar
which has now turned into a much have element in
most of the homes in todays time. One is always

for a lot of informal entertainment, large
kitchen or the family room can be chosen as the
bar. If one live in an apartment and has an open
kitchen, a particular part of the corner of the
kitchen can be converted into a bar. For
instance, a counter for breakfast with some
glass cabinets with below cabin to store the
glasses and bottles could be doubled up as a bar
for the evening. An alternative is a corner
cabinet in the kitchen can be converted into a

Some people also prefer the area that is below
the staircase as an area if it is within the
dining or the living area. The allotted space
for the bar must have a comfortable movement for
at least any one person which get to go behind
the counter and have a few bar stools in front.
One can also go for a bar within a wall cabinet
which can be open up when it is required. It can
also have a drop down top which one can use as a
bar mixing table. A small cupboard below can
have glasses and alcohol. If required a small or
mini-fridge can be designed to fit in the area
so whenever required, the console can be taken or
pulled out and it becomes the front bar and back
unit becomes the back of the bar. Apart from
lighting the bar under shelves, highlighting a
particular bottle would add to the additional
look of the bar. One can also install a fancy
bar that equips such as bottle holder, wine stand
and hanging glass holders. Also, if the space
permits, hanging the lights can be used over or
above the counter. The size and design of bar
unit will depend on needs as well as the
availability of space. A simple bar arrangement
could also mean that a bar table with some bar
stools. If there is any theme in your home
décor, incorporate that in your bar as well.
Otherwise, if you prefer, you can also adorn
your bar in varied ways from the rest of the home
to set the bar apart from the rest of the
house. The bar can also vary from straight
semi-circular counter in a particular corner to a
huge trolley on the wheels to balance the
cabinet tucked under the staircase that can be
swung out when it is required. Another important
option is to expand the display of crockery
display unit in the dining room to assist as a
bar counter. This also can be done by offering a
countertop for putting in bottles as well as
mixing the drinks.
