Current Status of IOT
At present in IOT, Google partnered with Nest
Learning Thermostat. They turned the dumb devices
into smart devices that help to identify user
behavior. Nest works with other companies like
Philips for smart lights, Logitech for smart
remotes, Amazon for home shopping button used to
call as Dash. Mc Kinsey claims a report that by
2020, IOT market should have 20 to 30 Million
connected devices. The truth is, it is a huge
market and the possibilities are really endless.
From the statistics report it is very clear that
potential of this business is too big.

• Brillo is a platform under development by Google
  on which other devices can offer IOT Services.
  Intel and Qualcomm are jointly working to offer
  chip-based platforms to offer connected devices
  through Internet.  Apple is also developing a
  home kit objective of this product is to help
  device makers to connect their product with
  iPhones and iPads.
