Sariska Tiger Reserve is a national
park and tiger reserve located in the Alwar
district of the state of Rajasthan, India. The
topography of the protected area comprises
scrub-thorn arid forests, rocky landscapes, dry
deciduous forests, rocks, grasses and hilly
cliffs. This area was a hunting preserve of
the Alwar state and it was declared a wildlife
reserve in 1955. It was given the status of a
tiger reserve making it a part of India's Project
Tiger in 1978.

Ranthambore National Park is one of the largest
national parks in northern India, covering entire
area of 392 km². It is situated in the Sawai
Madhopur district of southeastern Rajasthan,
about 110 km northeast of Kota and 140 km
southeast of Jaipur, which is also the nearest
airport. The nearest town and railway station is
at Sawai Madhopur, about 11 km away. The park is
also close to the Kota railway station. RIDCOR
operates a mega-highway between Kota and
Ranthambhore.

One of the finest bird parks in the world,
Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary also known as Keoladeo
Ghana National Park is a reserve that offers
protection to faunal species as well. Keoladeo,
the name derives from an ancient Hindu temple,
devoted to Lord Shiva, which stands at the centre
of the park. 'Ghana' means dense, referring to
the thick forest, which used to cover the area.
Nesting indigenous water- birds as well as
migratory water birds and waterside Birds , this
sanctuary is also inhabited by Sambar, Chital,
Nilgai and Boar.
