SURVIVOR
TURF VALLEY - NCAB
OUT-LATG
31Survivor
- Well we brought the hit TV show from exotic
locales around the world straight into the NCAB
seminar. - Teams were broken into 4 tribes and pitted their
resourcefulness, creativity and determination
against each other to win immunity to determine
the ultimate survivor.
32Survivor
- Instead of throwing spears, the strategy and
teamwork of the tribes were challenged by
hilarious contest ranging from showing off their - PPE skills blind folded,
- husbandry skills, controlling a re-mote control
mouse through a - maze of cones while being chased by a cat,
- demonstrating blow-gun techniques
- to finally eating mouth watering monkey treats.
- The Game features over 6 challenges that was done
in three separate rooms. Because there's no
trivia component, it encourages all level of
technicians to get off the sidelines and into the
game in a way that's was fun, highly competitive
and, at the final Tribal council, highly
rewarding.
33CLUE
- The classic whodunit board game! Poor Dr.
Do-Little has been murdered in his own animal
Facility. Who could have done it? And how? And
where?
34Clue
- With six suspects, the Untouchable PI, Animal
Tech, Caretaker, Chair of the IACUC, Facility
Manager, and/or the Cage Wash Foreman. Six
possible murder weapons were found within nine
rooms in the vivarium, there are hundreds of
possibilities, and plenty of clues that were
investigated!
35Trivial Pursuit
- Trivial Pursuit was simple yet a very interactive
game for the technicians.
36Trivial Pursuit
- The Board was reproduced by taping it out on the
floor and the pie pieces were given out as they
answered the correct questions. We were able to
push the game players' wits to the limit.
37Monthly Meetings
- We saw a dramatic increase of Technicians
actively participating in the meetings and
started to actively seek out positions in our
Branch - Meetings not solely devoted to scientific
discussions enticing technicians to attend such
as - Night out at National Medical Museum
- Meeting held at the National Zoo with Tours
38Conclusion
- Have fun by actively engaging the technicians to
find out what they would like to see happen in
the branch And try to make it happen by thinking
out of the box!
