Step 1 Eye positioning

• The eyeball is positioned optimally for the LASIK
  laser, and suctioned to hold it in place

Step 2 Making the flap

• Once the eyeball is in place, a microkeratome is
  used to make a flap in the cornea
• Process takes about 30 seconds or less

Step 3 Flap Lifted

• The flap is lifted, revealing the inside of the
  cornea. The exposed tissue will be reshaped by
  the laser to correct your vision

Step 4 LASIK Laser Ablation

• Once the flap is lifted, the cool LASIK laser
  gently removes tissue from the cornea, reshaping
  it to correct your vision
• 10-60 seconds, depending on correction

Step 5 Flap Replacement

• Once your cornea is properly reshaped by the
  laser, the flap is smoothed back into place where
  it begins to heal immediately
• 10-60 seconds to replace the flap
