  • Review handouts on the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade
    strands and the 6th grade strands
  • Table talk on how they can lead our teaching
  • How to plan instruction for and assess

Trimester Assessments
  • Two times a year
  • Grades 3-6
  • Created by Kent ISD teachers
  • Used WASL stem questions and actual stories taken
    from other tests or McMillan materials
  • Include tests and scoring guides
  • Hardcopies and online
  • Help to identify which students need tier II
    instruction

  • Title and 4th Grade
  • How to score
  • Read story
  • Review students answers
  • Compare to scoring guide
  • Assign points
  • Confer with another colleague
  • Look for themes

Practice Scoring
  • Grades K-3 will score tests from Tinas class
  • Grades 4-6 will score tests from Brendas class
  • You may write on the tests
  • Write number of points earned per question
  • Total test
  • Replace in center of table

  • Please score at least one full test
  • Then take a stretch break
  • We will begin again at 320

Student Work Protocol
  • Identify a scribe and facilitator
  • Look over work and identify what is seen in a
    nonjudgmental manner. Whip around and share out.
  • Interpret the work. Try to see what the student
    was doing and why.
  • Decide what are the implications for the
    classroom in terms of next steps and teaching.
  • Work together to create notes for one test at
    your table. Attach notes to cover of paper.
