Access Forms

• A form is an Access database object that allows
  you to arrange the fields of a record in any
  layout.
• The datasheet view of a table or query can be
  used to navigate, edit, and enter new info, but
  all the fields of one record are not always
  visible. A form fixes this by using the screen
  to show one record at a time.
• Forms are often primary object used to enter,
  edit, and find data.

Planning a Form

• Determine the overall purpose of the form
• Determine the underlying record source
• Gather the source documents used to design your
  form, or sketch the form by hand if a paper form
  does not exist.
• Determine the best type of control to use for
  each element of the form (drop-downs?)
