Find Standard Industrial Classification (SIC)
Code
  • Coding system used to gather and classify
    information on U.S. businesses
  • 10 major categories (agriculture, mining, retail
    trade, etc.)
  • SIC places each line of business within one of
    the ten divisions and assigns a four-digit code.
    The first two digits describe the general nature
    of the activity, third and fourth describe the
    specific activity
  • Example 22 Manufacturing Textile mill
    products
  • 2273 Manufacturing Tufted carpets, rugs

Format
  • Double-spaced, 12-point TNR font only, 1-inch
    margins
  • Write in paragraphs using dialog, NO BULLETS
  • 12-15 pages of text not including appendix
  • Put items in appendix in same order they appear
    in text with labels
  • No table of contents
  • APA or MLA citation guidelines (including in-text
    citations)

  • No spelling and grammar errors. Three-point
    deduction for each.
  • Paper graded from perspective of executive (your
    employee) reviewing a report, not as an
    instructor reviewing a students paper. Be
    professional!
  • Late paper will lose the equivalent of one letter
    grade for each 24 hours it is late, including
    weekends and holidays.
  • Content and format need to follow directions.
    Points will be deducted for not following
    directions.
