    Industry

2
  • Background
  • Netanya Plasmatec founded in 1996 within Target
Technological Incubator in the sea side town of
    Netanya.
  • Objective To develop an idea conceptualized by
Dr. Pavel Devoskin, a leading scientist in the
field of metallurgy, for a new technology to
    improve metal castings.

  • What it is the patented PTC idea?

The PTC process applies a rotating plasma arc
above the solidifying metal in the mold that
creates a strong stirring effect and applies
mechanical pressure inside the molten metal
without heating it. The secret is in making
the plasma arc move along a prescribed path by
using a proprietary patented electrodes.
4
Effect of the PTC Technology
  • LOWER COST TO PRODUCER
  • Savings in total cast weight by
  • eliminating most of risers mass 50 of total
    weight
  • savings in sand and binder
  • shorter production cycle.
  • BETTER QUALITY
  • Improved homogeneity of the cast metal,
  • Reduced grain size,
  • Reduced porosity ratio,
  • Decreased shrinkage blowholes, inclusions,
    segregation and coarse dendrites formation

Plasma Treatment Casting (PTC).
  • PTC Savings
  • Saving 30 of total aluminum cast metal
  • Saving 35 of sand and binders
  • Increasing productivity by 20

10
Market Validation and Approval
Commercially tested and approved by 5 different
car manufacturers in Europe and Japan on 8 types
of cylinder heads. The PTC technology was
proved to reduce production costs, by about 20,
(at least 15/cylinder head) while greatly
improving the quality of the cast cylinder heads
and reducing ecological contamination.
11
Contracts In Place and Agreements in Process
  • Contracts with 2 leading automotive manufacturers
-- implementing PTC technology into production of
    aluminum cylinder heads
  • NP is currently negotiating commercial agreements
with companies in other market segments
  • Different automotive parts producers and
  • Casting equipment manufacturers
  • NP is typically paid in royalties based on
quantities cast or on lump sum paid for period of
time to use the PCT technology or to apply the
    PCT technology to specific products.

12
  • Projected Royalty Revenue
  • Aluminum cylinder heads market
  • 80 million units per year
  • projected saving approximately 10 per unit
  • NP expects to earn 15-20 of such savings
  • Semi-continuous casting of aluminum and copper
    billets
  • 20 million tons of aluminum billets and
  • 15 million tons of copper billets
  • -- per ton savings 20 40 per ton
  • NP expects to earn 15-20 of such savings
  • And other applications

13
The PTC Technology applies to
  • Gravity Die Casting (GDC)
  • Sand Casting
  • Semi Continuous Casting
  • Continuous Casting
  • Lost Foam Casting
  • Casting aluminum, magnesium copper, copper
alloys, steel and cast iron parts.

14
Intellectual Property
NP protects its intellectual property by patents
requests through the Patent Cooperation Treaty
(PCT) mechanism, which incorporates over 40 major
market countries. Patents granted in USA,
Brazil, Japan, Poland, Norway, Czech Republic,
Hungary, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Korea, Canada,
Mexico, China, Australia, Japan, EU countries,
India, South Africa and Israel. 4 new patent
applications for NP technology submitted.
15
Summary
  • Proven, patented technology
  • Significant savings in raw materials, production
    time and related expenses
  • Higher quality cast parts
  • Successfully completed in-field commercial
    testing with several leading manufacturers
  • Significant long-term agreements with 2 major
    industry leaders
  • Addresses acute automotive market needs in a
    large growing market
  • Well experienced, focused management team

16
  • What we are looking for?
  • Investment of 3 - 4 Million and/or

Where are we standing now?
Netanya Plasmatec (NP) is now on the threshold of
penetrating its groundbreaking Plasma Treatment
Casting (PTC) technology into foundries of world
leading manufacturers of aluminum, copper and
cast iron products. After years of development,
successful execution of commercial pilots on
actual production lines and first commercial
scale application, the PTC technology has been
proven to create significant savings in raw
materials, time and related expenses in the
production of aluminum cast parts for automotive
and other uses, while producing the parts at
higher quality.
19
Projected revenues for automotive cylinder heads
20
PTCs competitive advantages for GDC of aluminum
cylinder heads
  • Reducing average casting weight by 10 kg
  • Reducing average top sand core weight by 8 kg
  • Reducing average solidification time by 60 sec
  • Increasing casting line productivity by 20
  • Improving casting quality
  • Reducing defects ratio
  • Reducing porosity ratio by at least 50.
  • Increasing elongation by at least 50

Marketing Strategy
NP intends to sell the PTC process against
royalties which will be based on per weight or
per number of units cast. The royalties to be
paid for using the PTC process will be calculated
on basis of the savings that result from using
the PTC process. NP considers 25-40 of the
savings for the customers as reasonable revenue.
In the case of casting cylinder heads, the cost
of applying the PTC process, including equipment
required, consumables and servicing expenses is
estimated at 10-25 from the savings to the
foundry, thus leaving NP a margin of profit of
USD 1-3 per cylinder head.
