• A concrete mixer (also commonly called a cement
  mixer) is a device that homogeneously combines
  cement, aggregate such as sand or gravel, and
  water to form concrete. A typical concrete mixer
  uses a revolving drum to mix the components.

• Make sure that everyone knows where the kill
  switch is on the mixer!!!

Personal Safety Tips

• Dust mask should be worn at all times during
  mixing.
• Use two people to lift the bags of concrete into
  the mixer.
• Wear goggles two keep eyes free concrete dust.

• Turn off engine while refueling
• Only fill wheel barrow ¾ full of concrete
• when moving.
• Make sure that you are not wearing loose clothes
  that can get caught in the machine.

• The number one rule to follow when working with a
  concrete mixer is NEVER PUT YOUR ARMS DOWN INTO
  THE MIXING DRUM!!!!

Problems with the Concrete Mixer
1) Concrete Dust If engine is not covered, the
dust when loading will clog engine.
2) Not cleaning after use.

What OSHA has to Say!!!

• OSHA states any person using a power operated
  (gas or electric) tool or machine should be
  trained in the operation of that particular tool
  or machine.
• You should have and everyone should know the
  safety plan if an accident occurs.
