• This is so easy to use, and it's the perfect size
  for one or two people. I've been making a lot of
  stews, and I'll saute the onions, carrots, and
  meat (if I'm using meat) then add everything
  else, seal it, and set it for 7 minutes on high
  pressure. I let it release naturally and have a
  perfectly cooked, tasty meal every time. This
  gives me enough for 4 or 5 servings.

• Okay. I'll give it five stars based on the rice
  it produces and easy of use and design. It does
  indeed make pretty much perfect rice, white,
  brown, wild, etc. as well as other grains. It
  comes with a little measuring cup. The water
  level marks inside (none too easy to see, are
  calibrated for the number of these little cups of
  grain you use. But the cup is about 3/4 cup, Why?
  Because that's 1-gou, the standard Japanese rice
  serving measure. But that's no big deal. Nor is
  it a problem that the water marks inside are hard
  to read. Just use one measure of water to one
  measure of rice. I know. That's different from
  your usual ratio for stovetop rice.

• I got this after hearing a buzz about it in the
  vegan community, and boy am I glad I did. Creamy
  mashed potatoes in 6 minutes, perfectly cooked
  white rice in 4 minutes, delicious spicy red
  lentil chili in 10 minutes, potato and vegetable
  curry in 8 minutes... If I chop and peel my
  vegetables in the morning, I can have dinner on
  my plate 20 minutes after I get home from work.
  I've found that a few things in the instant pot
  need trial and error as far as timing goes, and a
  few things I've tried weren't as good as I'd
  hoped they would be. (I much prefer my sweet
  potatoes baked, and it's almost impossible to
  steam broccoli in the instant pot without it
  turning to mush) but otherwise I use my instant
  pot almost every day. I discovered the best way
  to clean and deodorize the interior of the
  instant pot after cooking something fragrant,
  like chili or spaghetti sauce, is to add a cup
  and a half of water with a good splash of white
  vinegar and turn on the steam cycle for 2
  minutes. Afterward, wipe down the inside of the
  lid with a clean towel and voila! Good as new.
  The instant pot as changed the way I cook, and
  has found a permanent home on my kitchen counter.
  I would recommend this product to anyone,
  especially if they are interested in an easy way
  to make healthy recipes.

• Like cooking with the Jetsons. This is the next
  evolution in pressure cooking. I'm used to using
  a stovetop pressure cooker which has to be
  watched and the temperature adjusted as it
  reaches pressure. With this pressure cooker, you
  press the buttons and go do something else. I
  come back later, open it and dinner is on. Seems
  to be high-quality but I've only had it for a
  couple of months. Settings are fairly intuitive.
  Cleanup is easy. The cooking pot is an insert
  which lifts out. The lid has five basic parts
  which you will separate for cleaning and that's
  it. The underside of the lid has a disk with a
  silicone gasket that goes around its perimeter
  which must be removed and washed after each use.
  There is a soft silicone grommet in the center of
  that disc on the underside of the lid that I
  don't generally remove after each use. Anyway,
  all of this will be a parents when you see it in
  person. You won't regret this purchase. It's
  especially helpful to people who want to have a
  healthful diet but don't want to spend hours in
  the kitchen after a long day at work.

• Last month my husband threw me on the Instant Pot
  bandwagon by purchasing this one and I don't plan
  on getting off anytime soon. I have three young
  boys who demand all my attention all day. It's
  been so hard getting dinner on the table and the
  idea of cooking is just daunting. I hate cooking.
  I hate figuring out what to cook. I hate not
  having food readily available. ENTER the Instant

• That being said, I noticed a lot of negative
  feedback about the customer service at the Power
  Pressure Cooker company. That worried me, as I
  had just placed my order. I read one woman's
  review that she went and bought hers at Bed, Bath
  and Beyond for the same price, so I cancelled my

  BBB last night. I already roasted a chicken in it

• Whenever asked, they claim that this is a
  stainless steel pot. Well- the outside of it is.
  But the inside, which comes in contact with your
  food- is not. The inner pot is a very lightweight
  teflon coated pot. I don't want teflon. Would
  rather have stainless steel. The upper lid
  appears to be aluminum. Both teflon and aluminum
  have negative effects on our bodies.

• I received my MaxiMatic EPC-808BL Elite Platinum
  Digital Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker quickly
  and I had to try it out right away. I made some
  barbecue turkey wings in my pot that turned out
  quite wonderful. A quick review of the manual
  indicated the setting (Poultry) and I added an
  extra 15 minutes (perfect). Some seasonings, 1
  cup of water, 1 cup of barbecue sauce, some
  cayenne pepper, a table spoon of dry chicken
  seasoning, ½ table spoon of salt, and 2 table
  spoons of chopped garlic (Yummy). I also washed
  and placed 4 medium size russet potatoes in the
  pot. I closed it and set it. In 40 minutes I had
  perfect barbecue. I could not believe it.

• I tried this last night for the first time. I did
  baby back ribs just as per their instructions.
  they were perfectly cooked, tender and moist. but
  realize that this is like parboiling. no browning
  or crispy crust. I put low carb b b q sauce on
  them and slid them into a 500 degree oven for ten
  minutes to dry out the sauce a bit. very tasty.
  the next time I will finish them on a hot b b q
  grill. my next try will be a chuck roast.' will
  report after that to see if my rating changes. oh
  by the way, the unit stay relatively cool on the
  outside. must have good insulation in it.
