Personal World View

• Project is development of overlay network that
  could serve the clients to broadcast any kind of
  media.
• It could be live streaming
• It could be multimedia file (Audio, Video etc..)
• Project involve development of three main
  component
• Distributed Overlay Network
• This will be collection of Servers established
  ed over the Computer Network (Internet)
• These servers are going to combine the
  broadcasted media to single stream to avoid the
  multicasting between different Network.
• This Network is going to provide on demand basis
  stream to the required server
• Broadcaster
• This will be required application for
  provisioning encoded multimedia stream to Core
  Network.
• Client
• This application will be responsible for
  receiving the stream and displaying to the end
  user in most appropriate way.

Suspend Here, Resume There

• This is project that involve integration of
  Virtualization and distributed file system
  technologies.
• In this user can suspend the current operation on
  host1 and resume its work on host2.
• Project involve development of two main
  components
• Getting the state information of current process
  on host 1
• Transferring the state to distributed File system
• Receiving the state of processes on host 2
• Recreating the same virtualized machine over
  host2
• Process State can be stored and restored through
  COTS products like VMWare Virtual Server.

Distributed Gaming Infrastructure

• Current technologies in the distributed Gaming
  framework showing sign of congestion and
  sluggishness as number of users grows from few
  numbers.
• Project will involve developing a gaming
  infrastructure that can support multiuser.

• This involve development of Financial Portfolio
  Distributed Infrastructure that can provide
  secure Transaction over the Network.

RFID Based Distributed Systems

• RFID technology does not require contact or line
  of sight for communication. RFID data can be read
  through the human body, clothing and non-metallic
  materials.RFID technology also works in rain,
  snow and other environments where bar code or
  optical scan technology would be useless.
  Distributed Systems Replication(Redundancy)occurs
  at the server end, not at the human end. Say, I
  get a tag and I get lost. The last I did was
  purchase some stuff at Walmart, using the tag
  (which is btw linked to my bank account). So,
  there two places of access - Two distributed
  sub-systems. Application Disneyland - kids
  getting lost. Prisons, Have a single tag that can
  get you access to where the prisoner is.
  Requirements RFID chip(most vendors give C
  library along with it),database with all IDs -
  hierarchical structure(can we use?), C library

  interface with RFID tags, computers to act as the
  various servers. We could have some programs
  running on them that are somehow linked to each
  other and they have in common the ID that this
  tag indicates.

Distributed file system on multiple platforms
aka Mobile Family Accounts!

• Application (as of now) Application that runs on
  Mobile using Java to get inputs about daily
  expenses(could be blogs, poems etc) and then
  these are exported to a set of servers which hold
  the information. This information can be
  retrieved online by a remote computer. Basically,
  get to see how much I spent shopping dad! they
  can enter things online that can be retrieved on
  my mobile. DS Concepts Several systems
  interconnected(Authorization service will be
  required, naming service can be used so that even
  if mobile dies, you can get the information from
  the server by name of the device). updates
  required periodically to keep up with the mobile
  and online entries. Requirements mobile, java,
  Windows preferred, computers talking to the
  server. How do we make the mobile talk to the
  server if we don't use internet?

Remote Monitoring System

• This would be subpart of Personal World View.
• The stream will be provided by the Camera and
  will be transmitted to authenticated users only.
