Title: An Attempt On

1
An Attempt On
  • Learning Without Burden

2
Based on guiding principles (
NCF-2005) and that
  • Good science education is
  • true to child ,true to life and true to
science, leading to basic criteria of validity
    of science curriculum,which are
  • Cognitive validity
  • Content validity
  • Process validity
  • Historical validity
  • Environmental validity
  • Ethical validity
  • Thereby, helping the student in getting
    creative,inventive and learning to learn
    science.

4
Rational behind construction of exhibit
  • Highly motivated by the recommendation of
    NCF-2005,that ,
  • with active teacher participation ,the
reform stated in (NCF-05) could have a
cascading affect on all stages of science
teaching in our school s and enrich joyful
learning would take place through project
    works,information communication technology,
  • it was deciding to work on projectile
motion trying to cover the maximum
    recommendation of NCF-2005.

5
Rational behind construction of
exhibit
  • It is an attempt to improve upon the
quality of teaching and learning process. And
also to make students aware about the
projectile motion in daily life. It is also
in attempt to popularize science and realize
the relationship between science and the
    society.
  • This aid will definitely stimulate
    scientific temper among students.

6
About the teaching aid
  • This teaching aid includes teaching the topic
    in different way such as-
  • Learning by doing . An activity based
    exhibit,based on constructive creative approach
of learning ,to create enquiry mind.
  • (as NCF says-
  • Enquiry skill should be supported
    strengthened.
  • Spread a wave of creativity and scientific
temper among students as well as their
    teachers.)

7
  • Play way- joyful learning -a flip book showing
animated motion based on principal of persistence
    of vision.

8
  • Environmental validity linkage -A magic box
using a special technique of linkage , joining 8
small cubes showing information on projectile
    motion examples from daily life.

9
  • Learning using ICT -(information communication
    technology)
  • It is a CD having power point presentation
    including animations,hyperlinks and video clips.
  • (as NCF says-
  • ICT is an important tool for budging social
divides.ICT can become an opportunity equalizes
    by providing information,communications
    computing resources in remote areas.
  • Rote learning should be discouraged.)

10
  • Theatre in education-
  • Here is an small attempt to dramatize text
which is a small part of theatre.
  • (as NCF says-
  • Theatre is one of the most powerful, yet
least utilized art form in educations . Not
only for humans but also towards the natural
physical worlds, theatre is a medium for
    excellence.)

11
  • Interactive questionnaire (in C.D.)
  • (as NCF says-
  • Interactive,net enabled computers ,rather
than only C.D based computer usage ,would
facilitate a meaningful integration of computers
enhance the school curriculum in rural
    remote areas by increasing connectivity
    enhancing access to ideas information's)

  • CD in Hindi-
  • (as NCF says-
  • use of ICT is access to knowledge in
regional language is still limited and is one of
the main reasons for the persistence growing
divide between learners from urban rural
    schools learners from regional language
    English medium schools.)

13
  • Cognitive validity linkage-
  • Exhibiting concept of horizontal vertical
    velocity vector.

14
  • Useful web sites-
  • To support and strengthen enquiry skills of the
    students

DescriptionConstruction and working of the
exhibit
  • PROJECTILE MOTION , learning by doing
  • Makes the child understand the dependence of
    horizontal range(h),maximum height (h) on
velocity (v) and angle of projection(?) of
    the projectile.
  • Changing the angle of slide and velocity
of ball by velocity control elastic, we can
understand the effect of v and ? on h and
    r.

  • Play way-Joyful learning

Small flip book gives the moving visual
effect of body projected in air. It depends
on the concept of persistence of vision.
18
Environmental Validity linkage approach of
learning
  • The information magic box,contains
    information about projectile motion,example from
    our daily life environment.

Information magic box contains information
about projectile motion, examples of daily
life etc in.8 small boxes of big box
attached technically so as to facilitate
exposure of all faces of small 8 boxes
i.e.8648 faces all open for information..

Learning by ICT
  • Compact Disk contains the power point
presentation of the topic with animated
applications, hyper links of projectile motion
and many more options to learn more on projectile
    motion.

Theater in Education
Theater is one of the most powerful , yet least
utilised at forms in education. In the
exploration of self in relation to others, the
development of understanding of the self, and of
critical empathy , not only for humans but also
towards he nature, physical and social worlds,
Here is an attempt to create interest and
understanding on the topic through theater .
22
Interactive Questionnaire
  • Contains multiple choice questions on projectile
motion which has been prepared in power point
    presentation.

23
ICT (for Hindi medium students)
  • Small attempt to decrease the gap between
    rural and urban students.
  • A Power point presentation in Hindi have been
prepared to make possible the use of ICT by
    rural hindi medium school students.

24
Cognitive Validity Approach
  • It clears the concept of horizontal and
vertical component of velocity vector of
    projectile body.
  • Interactive Class room

Learning without burden
  • Play a game
  • Blast a Buick out of a cannon!
  • Learn about projectile motion by firing
various objects. Set the angle, velocity and
    mass, adding air resistance also.

26
Application
  • This teaching aid will be of high utility
    while teaching the topic-projectile motion
    in class.
  • It objectives of NCF-2005 are being satisfied.
  • Develops abilities necessary to do
    scientific inquiry and science innovations.
  • Develops abilities necessary to communicate
    and defend scientific arguments .
  • Rote learning by the student is discouraged.

27
  • It satisfies---
  • learning without burden,joyful
    fearing,constructive,creative,inventive approach
    of learning.
