Definitions of Digital Library

• (1) A networked collection of digital
  objects -- text, still images, moving images,
  sound, data -- with arrangement, search features
  and metadata that allow for discovery and
  presentation, supporting research and teaching,
  and with attention paid to architecture,
  persistence, longevity, and digital preservation.

  locating, retrieving, and accessing these
  information objects the methods used to organize
  and present those objects and the information
  technologies by which they are made available to
