The need for the YBC
  • Established in the year 2002 as a non-profit
    organization that
  • Brings business people together and strengthens
    their relations.
  • Helps sharing experiences and unites their
    efforts.
  • Helps raising their efficiency and increasing the
    effectiveness of their institutions.

the efficiency of the club members supporting
their establishment for the achievement of the
overall development in the Yemeni Economy.

  • Club seeks to strengthen linkages between
    members and to develop their institutions and
    contribute to the overall development process,
    through the implementation of programs and
    activities in lead by trust and a spirit of
    cooperation.

  • Plans and implements social activities for the
    businessmen families (women and children).

    well as strengthening the mutual relation.

Membership criteria
  • The applicant should not be less than 25 years
    old.
  • The applicant should be a director, deputy
    director or a partner in a well known company.
  • Committed to pay the annual fees.
  • Must accept and abide by the club rules and
    regulations

Our Activities Conferences
  • The family business conference, held in February
    2007.
  • The first Businesswomen Gathering, held in
    December 2007.
  • The Corporate governance Conference, held in the
    February 2008 in collaboration with CIPE.
  • The industry and the future of Yemen Conference,
    held in December 2008 Chamber of Commerce and
    Industry Hadhramaut.

Our Activities Seminars, workshops and studies
  • "Yemen and the Arab Free Trade Zone", A workshop
    organized in 2004.
  • The first workshop for the Yemeni Corporates'
    Board of Directors Members, which was held in
    April 2009.
  • "Closed sharing companies and the importance of
    the transition to the open for public companies",
    a seminar held in late October 2008.
  • Extensive training program in October 2007 for
    the managers of human resources and training
    officials of the members' companies.
  • The club is in the process of issuing the Yemeni
    Economic scheduled to be in this year 2009-.
  • In cooperation with the Yemeni Polling Center and
    CIPE a study on the status quo of corporate
    governance in Yemen.
  • In cooperation with CIPE, KPMG was hired to
    conduct a study on the Yemeni legislation of
    trade and investment.

Our Activities internal and external relations
  • The club has gained the confidence and support
    from government.
  • The club is a member of the International
    Business Forum as the representative of Yemen.
  • The club was able to open a good and fruitful
    relationship with the Center for International
    Private Enterprise of the Chamber of Commerce,
    Washington.
  • The club was able to open up the prospect of
    cooperation with Almusiad (Association of the
    Turkish Businessmen and Industrialists).
  • The club was able to establish a friendly
    relation with the businessmen of Alexandria and
    the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and the
    Organization of Turkish Tascon.
  • The club maintains good relations with a number
    of regional and international embassies operating
    in Yemen.

  • The club is linked to relations of cooperation
    with the General Union of Chambers of Commerce
    and Industry and the Businessmen Council and the
    Yemeni Industrialists Association.
  • The club maintains a broad and strong with many
    of the Yemeni civil society organizations.
  • The club was able to open prospects for
    cooperation and friendship with many
    international organizations working in Yemen,
    such as IFC, the World Bank, GTZ....
  • Many regional and international business
    delegations, visited to the club.
