remotely.
7Most ISPs will give their users some storage
space on their servers for FREE. OR sign up
with a free Web page provider, like Tripod,
GeoCities, or Angelfire. Set up an account and
you'll have an automatic host server for your
site.
8Web hosts are companies that provide space on a
server they own for use by their clients (YOU
are the web designer)
9When you upload all of your HTML files from your
computer to your hosting account, you're
publishing your site. You must use a File
Manager Program FTP - FILE TRANSFER PROTOCOL
to send a copy of your sites files from your
hard drive to the host server.

10Your host computer is connected to the Internet
so people who know your address can view your
site with their browser. (Firefox, Internet
Explorer, Safari, Opera) Later, you can change
any of your web site files and upload the
corrected files via FTP through your host.

11There are a ton of hosting services out there.
12What about your web sites name and address? You
can use the address your hosting service
automatically prescribes for you, like
www.comcast.net\SmithFamily Or www.aol.com\Persimm
ons
13OR you can pick your own name and address,
like www.thetechtrainer.org. Then you must use
a domain registrar to check whether that name is
available. If so, you pay to register your name.
You can pay the same hosting service for both
registering sites using server space but you
dont have to.
