it is work time, work, and when its play

times. 4. Raise your hand before speaking.

Behavior Management
  • CONSEQUENCES
  • Student behavior will be monitored using a color
    coding system. For every misbehavior, a student
    will move their name to another color. The
    number of times they move their name determines
    their conduct grade each nine weeks.
  • Color Coding System
  • GREEN Great! Everyone begins each day on
    green.
  • YELLOW Warning
  • RED Improvement needed lose 10 minutes of
    recess
  • BLACK Unsatisfactory Lose all of recess and
    a note is sent home to parents

Behavior Management
  • REWARDS
  • -GOTCHA Students may earn gotcha slips
    and/or immediate gotcha treats for making good
    choices. At the end of the week, the teacher
    will draw names for a reward from the gotcha
    slip basket.
  • -Classes can earn Gold Rings for following rules.
    Classes will receive a reward when their goal is
    met.

Purple Folders
  • Purple folders will be sent home each day.
  • Clean out purple folder daily and send any papers
    filled out or notes from home back to school in
    this folder.
  • Any communication to school should go in this
    folder.
  • Signed papers will come home in the purple
    folder. Please send complete pack of papers back
    by Friday.

  • Seated by 830 A.M.
  • Missing grades
  • Make-up work
  • Early dismissal
  • Attendance is part of AYP

  • 3rd Grade Writing Assessment
  • CRCT-Pass reading to go to 4th grade
  • science/social studies grades
  • 1 teacher in the classroom (responsibility)

  • Chapter tests will count twice
  • Timed math fact quizzes 30 problems in 3
    minutes - We will begin with mixed addition and
    subtraction facts then move to multiplication
    facts.

Spelling
  • Pre-test each Monday new list is
  • given- if they make 100 no test required
  • Test will be on Friday
  • Spelling is 10 of Language Arts grade
  • Spelling homework may not be assigned,
    however, students are still responsible for the
    test on Friday. Extra credit will be given for
    spelling activities completed.

Social Studies Science
  • Grades 4 ½ weeks of
  • each subject area
  • All tests count twice
  • GPS Standards will still
  • be covered

Homework
  • Maximum of 45 minutes (County policy)
  • Homework will be written on weekly newsletter
  • Students should review reading vocabulary,
    spelling
    words, and math facts frequently throughout the
    week.
  • Other subject areas, homework will be assigned as
    needed tests, projects, extra practice, etc.
  • Read 20 minutes at least 4 times a week and
    complete reading log on weekly newsletter

Reading Counts
  • Students will read books and take tests
    according to their Lexile reading test score.
  • Students will set a point goal each nine weeks.
  • Students meeting their goal with at least 80
    accuracy will take part in a celebration each
    nine weeks.
  • Encourage your child to read every night.

Dress Code
  • Tennis shoes are best-recess, P.E., walking in
    the halls, etc.
  • Halter tops, shorts

Miss Alaineus Vocabulary Parade
  • Each student will be assigned a word from our
    curriculum.
  • They will have to make a costume demonstrating
    the meaning of their word.
  • We consider this an at home project and it will
    count as a social studies and language arts grade.

Final Words
  • Early Bird and afterschool handouts are
    available in the office.
  • We will also contact parents to help volunteer at
    the school carnival.
  • Thank you to all parents who have sent in items
    from our wish list.
