Process for Enrollment

• 6 EASY STEPS
• Step 1 Complete application for high school
  students
• Step 2 Take the College Board Accuplacer Test
• (or provide SAT/ ACT Scores)
• Step 3 Provide SCC with a copy of HS transcripts
• Step 4 Select courses complete
• Registration Permission Form
• Step 5 Obtain necessary signatures
• Step 6 Meet with Concurrent Enrollment Advisor

• Courses offered by high school that articulate to
  Southwestern Community College
• 11 or 21 transfer when student meets minimum
  standard (VoCats scores grades)
• Ideal when a student intends to complete a degree
  at Southwestern Community College or another
  community college
• Credit awarded upon entry into SCC

• MACON COUNTY EARLY COLLEGE (MCEC)
• JACKSON COUNTY EARLY COLLEGE (JCEC)
• BLUE RIDGE EARLY COLLEGE (BREC)
• Enroll in high school on a college campus
• Earn HS diploma and Associates degree in 4 to 5
  years
• Intensive student support offered
• No cost for tuition, fees, textbooks or class
  materials

SCC Testing Requirements

• Accuplacer required of all adult students
  recommended for high school students
• Test sections include Reading, Sentence Skills,
  Arithmetic, Algebra
• New minimum score in Reading required for ALL
  college transfer courses (2008-09)
• High school students not achieving the minimum
  score can take RED 111 course
