    content of the written paper.

  • Ensure that you provide enough time to prepare
    candidates for the written examination (40 over
    two years?)
  • Structure this time well!

  • Teach generic design issues human factors,
    environmental issues, consumer issues, product
    analysis, product evolution, design methodology,
    packaging, labelling and instructions, product
    maintenance use of ICT, manufacturing etc.

Adapt the PowerPoint presentations to suit your
students

  • Collect and display handling collections of new
    commercially manufactured products use for
    product analysis. Pay particular attention to
    how they are manufactured, different markets etc.

Get students to discuss products at every
available opportunity

    sales/jumble sales/appeals to demonstrate the
    evolution of products over time.

Display with key questions/prompts to get them
used to identifying why changes have taken place.

    designs etc.
  • Team work is essential!

    noting processes, materials and systems used.

    examination.
  • Especially important for the revision period when
    there is a tendency to ease off!
