In the Presence of God

• All the people perceived the thunder and the
  lightning flashes and the sound of the trumpet
  and the mountain smoking and when the people saw
  it, they trembled and stood at a distance
• And Moses said to the people, Do not be afraid
  for God has come in order to test you, and in
  order that the fear of Him may remain with you,
  so that you may not sin. (Exodus 2018 20)

A Holy Attitude for Worship

• Now therefore, O kings, show discernment take
  warning, O judges of the earth.
• Worship the Lord with reverence, and rejoice with
  trembling. (Psalm 210 11)

A Holy Attitude

• The Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth
  be silent before Him. (Habakkuk 220)
• As for me, by Your abundant lovingkindness I will
  enter Your house, at Your holy temple I will bow
  in reverence for You. (Psalm 57)
• Establish Your word to Your servant, as that
  which produces reverence for You. (Psalm 11938)

What Attitude Does the New Testament Show?

• An hour is coming, and now is, when the true
  worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and
  truth for such people the Father seeks to be His
  worshipers.

• The angel said with a loud voice, Fear God,
  and give Him glory, because the hour of His
  judgment has come and worship Him who made the
  heaven and the earth and sea and springs of

• We consider appearance as a reflection of the
  importance of the event.
• How do I present myself for the presence of God?

When we examine all the fruits of our reverence,
it is good to consider

• We are usually attentive, even proactive, with
  things that are important to us.
• Inattentive behavior gives the appearance of a
  lack of importance or focus.
• Its a bad example.
• It can diminish my influence among my brethren.
• It can demoralize my brethren.
• We pursue the things which make for peace and
  the building up of one another. (Romans 1419)
