  work. Believes the Holy Spirit personally and
  directly changes mens hearts apart from the
  word.
• In fear of sounding charismatic, wont speak
  much of the Holy Spirit. Denies that the Holy
  Spirit has ANY active role today apart from the
  word.

• Possesses characteristics of a person
• Person A being characterized by conscious
  apprehension , rationality, moral sense
• The Bibles description of what the Spirit does
• He hears (John 1613)
• He speaks (John 1613-15)
• He speaks (I Tim 41)
• Bears witness with our spirits (Rom 816-17)
• He gives commandments (Acts 132)
• He delivers law (Rom 81-2)
• He leads and forbids (Acts 166-7)
• He glorifies (John 1614)

• Dont downsize the Spirit by viewing him as an
  object or a force! Hes like the Father the
  Son

The Nature Of The Spirit

• Part of the Godhead
• A three person Godhead (Acts 1729 Col 29)
• God refers to the divine nature, divinity,
  state of being God - Not necessarily ONE
  being
• Incidents where all three are present
• During the creation (Gen 11ff 126 John 1)
• At Jesus baptism (Mark 110-12)
• At every baptism (Mat 2819)
• I John 57 Eph 218 2 Cor 1314
• Peter equated the H.S. with God (Acts 53-4)
• Two parallel passages (Matt 1228 Luke 1120)

The Nature Of The Spirit

• He possesses the fullness of the divine nature
• The Holy Spirit is a spiritual being (John
  423-24)
• He is omnipresent (Psalms 1397-10)
• He is omniscient (Gen 12 Job 2613)
• He is omnipotent (I Pet 19-12)
• His existence is an eternal one (Heb 914 Ps

Conclusion

• The subject of the Holy Spirit is not something
  we should run away from!
• Ignorance of the Holy Spirit is detrimental
• Leads people into false religious ideas
• Causes us to neglect the acknowledgment of One
  who is fully God!
• The Holy Spirit is no different than the Father
  or Son - God in three persons, blessed trinity!
