Rome is the capital city of Italy and is one of
the most popular tourist destinations in the
world. Rome was inhabited as early as three
millennia, today it is the 3rd most populous
region of the European Union and is the center of
the Metropolitan City of Rome. Rome is located in
the central-western region of the Italian
Peninsula and it was originally founded around
753 BC.

Rome was one of the first sites for Renaissance
and also the birthplace for the emergence of
Neoclassicism and Baroque style, artists,
painters, and some of the most renowned
architects in the world. Rome is visited by more
than 10 million visitors annually making it the
11th most visited destination in the world.
Rome's historic center has been in fact listed in
the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rome has hosted
several important events like the 1960 Summer
Olympics, the World Food Programme, and many
