It is the resting place for 1,102 sailors and
marines killed during the USS Arizona attack on
Pearl Harbor in December 1941. It commemorates
this event it was built in 1962 and witnesses
more than 2million visitors annually. Today it
features sunken battleships, shuttle boats-the
sunken battleship has been declared a National
Historic Landmark in May 1989.
