• Emerging motorway network means you can now reach
  Cork in a truck in four hours thirty minutes

Globalisation

• Globalisation is dependent on being able to move
  raw materials and consumer goods around in a very
  cost-effective fashion.
• Freight will always take the path of least cost
  and least resistance.
• New Legislation making road haulage more
  expensive
• Can now get a container from China to Ireland
  cheaper that sending a truck from Ireland to
  Germany!

• The average consumer will use approx. 750 kgs of
  goods each year
• Many of these items are trucked several times
• It stands to reason that the more costs you
  allocate to the trucking industry, the more the
  consumer will pay for their purchases

• 85 of European truck movements are less then 150
  kms
• Only 1 of European truck movements are more than
  1,000 kms
