to Project Managers/Support Personnel
11Software Safety Implementation
- Facility Assurance Engineers (FAEs) responsible
for reviewing code/ensuring interlocks in place
for safety critical functions. Separation of
control vs. interlock strategy is of key
importance. - FAEs review systems architecture to ensure
proper redundancy/other engineering safe-guards
in place -- i. e., watch dog timers, fail-safe
power-off relays, etc. - FAEs work with project/facility personnel to put
software configuration management plans in-place
for long-term control of software within the
facilities

Leslie Johnson (OMA) to develop Software QA Plans
for LaRC Programs/Projects - Depending upon criticality of software, West
Virginia IVV Facility is being used to perform
IVV - In low criticality applications, SQA is being
performed in-house, monitoring contractor
performance against specified plans
