Title: Determination of intrinsic switching field distribution in perpendicular recording media: ?H(M,?M) method

1
Determination of intrinsic switching field
distribution in perpendicular recording media
?H(M,?M) method
  • Objective Understand the applicability range of
the ?H(M,?M) method (which is used to determine
the intrinsic switching field distribution in
    perpendicular recording media)
  • Approach Numerical studies of the ?H(M,?M)
    method based on the zero-temperature
    non-equilibrium random-field Ising model.
  • Significant results ?H(M?M) method works well at
high disorder and fails at low disorder in a
well-defined and universal way. Deviation from
redundancy is the best measure to determine the
    reliability range.
  • Why it matters the intrinsic switching-field
distribution D(Hs) is one of the most crucial
properties of magnetic recording media because it
is one of the key factors defining the recording
quality. Magnetic recording media use the memory
of hysteretic magnetic systems to store
information. The ?H(M,?M) method has been used
    successfully in analyzing and quantifying
    progress in perpendicular recording media
    fabrication.
