1
Things You Need to Remember While Buying Modular
Kitchens
2
  • Because it can be customised to meet the needs of
the homeowner, the new-age modular kitchen has
become a popular addition to urban Indian houses.
    When compared to traditional carpenter-built
kitchens, modular kitchens are more ergonomic,
maximise storage, and are more comfortable to
use. Because modular kitchens are constructed in
a factory, they must be meticulously designed
because no adjustments can be made while the
    kitchen is in production.

3
Make a Floor Plan
  • Choose a straight, L-shaped, or U-shaped layout
that allows for efficient workflow, depending on
the size of your kitchen. Use the golden triangle
guideline to make the stove, refrigerator, and
sink the kitchen's focal points, with a space of
4 to 9 feet between them.

4
Selecting Kitchen Appliances
  • Kitchen appliances should be chosen during the
design process so that they may be fitted into
the layout according to their specific
proportions. Make sure there are enough plug
points for all of the equipment. Determine the
final location for the cooktop-cum-chimney unit
and select a chimney with a strong suction power
to eliminate odours and create a smoke-free
    environment.

5
Storage should be Optimised
  • Examine your home's storage needs and consider
different-sized drawers and cabinets for spices,
    pots, cutlery, utensils, electronic equipment,
and other items. For all of your dry culinary
supplies, invest in a dedicated pantry cupboard.
Increase the height of overhead cabinets to the
ceiling level to maximise vertical storage. It's
worth noting that if there's a space between the
overhead cabinets and the ceiling, dust collects
    on the cabinet top.

6
Colour Arrangement
  • Choose a single colour or use contrasting colours
in a two-tone colour scheme. Consider a matte
finish for your modular kitchen cabinets, since a
glossy finish is more likely to reveal
    fingerprints and smudges.

7
Lighting
  • Under-cabinet lighting is a great way to brighten
up your modular kitchen. The kitchen's basic
illumination is provided by the ceiling lights,
however, the above cabinets throw shadows and
produce dark zones on the countertop. It is
strongly advised that under-cabinet lighting be
installed to illuminate the countertop and
provide appropriate task lighting for food
    preparation and cooking.

8
Accessories for a Modular Kitchen
  • Choose from a variety of accessories such as
bottle pull-outs, pull-out baskets, tall units,
cutlery organisers, corner units, and under-sink
accessories to fit your kitchen decor.
