  • The Indian Council of Agricultural Research
    (ICAR) was founded in 1929 and is an autonomous
    organization that falls under the Department of
    Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and
    the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare's
    jurisdiction. The Imperial Council of
    Agricultural Research (ICAR), formerly known as
    the Imperial Council of Agricultural Research, is
    one of the world's biggest agricultural systems.

  • The ICAR, which is headquartered in Delhi,
    organizes, directs, and administers agricultural
    research and education throughout the nation,
    including animal culture, horticulture, and
    fisheries, via 101 ICAR institutions and 71
    agricultural universities. For admission to
    undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, the
    National Testing Agency administers the ICAR All
    India Entrance Exam for Admission (ICAR AIEEA).

Passing class 12 is the minimum requirement for
UG courses (AIEEA UG) and a graduate degree in
the relevant area is needed for PG programs. This
exam assesses a candidate's knowledge of
biological sciences, zoology, mathematics,
agriculture, chemistry, and physics, among other
topics. The test is divided into two streams
(physics, chemistry, biology) and (physics,
chemistry, mathematics), each having 30 questions
(a total of 120 questions) and a total of 480
points.

The AICE test is a little more difficult (since
it is mostly for graduates and postgraduates),
and it is worth 800 points (200 questions), with
20 questions from general knowledge and reasoning
skills. Negative marking is in effect. In ICAR
institutions, there are about 1,500 UG seats and
450 PG seats available for courses. The price
structure varies based on the college's rating
and demand, ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 1.5
