The story so far

• Working group set up Head Of Department, Head of
  Faculty, Member of SLT
• Strategy decided upon.
• Fact finding mission. I went on various courses.
• Presentation of what Enterprise Education was to
  SMG in Autumn including Ofsted report. Launch of
  audit and bidding process.
• Audit of current provision carried out by Heads
  of Department.
• Vivien Arey helped co-ordinate and gave direction
  to strategies decided upon.

• 2. Financial capability
• 3. Enterprise capability
• 4. Economic Business understanding
• 5. Enterprise process

• Pleasing overall, particularly in some aspects of
  Enterprise Learning.
• Excellent practice in ICT, Business courses, WRL
  Technology
• Encouraging signs elsewhere. For example
• PE (Sponsorship in Sport)
• English (Media Advertsing)

What else has been happening?

• Representation in the Make your Mark Challenge in
  Enterprise Week.
• Appointment of Enterprise Co-ordinator
• Launch on Inset Day so all staff had a common
  understanding of the meaning of enterprise and
  what we are trying to achieve
• Finance Day Year 11 in March
• Enterprise 2 days Year 10 in July
• Launch of House Enterprise Challenge for Summer
  term to allow for entitlement.

Enterprise Education and the House System The
proposal

• Each House gets 250 to invest in an
  Enterprise Project
• Each House comes up with an idea. This could be
  an event such as a Fashion Show or Talent
  Contest, or a business such as car washing or
  selling a product.
• Different forms would be responsible for
  different aspects of the process identifying
  need, planning, marketing, implementing,
  evaluating.

The Proposal cont.

• There would be an Enterprise Cup and House points
  available
• The House Events Day in July could include a
  showcase of the ideas, and the competition could
  even be judged then.
• The Houses could keep any profit for a House
  based bonding activity at the end of the summer
  term or in September.
