2Hi!
3- There will be a lot to say in this class, so I
thought I would start with a moment of silence.
4- Are you ready?
- Be ready for anything
5 6- OhI forgot one thing
- If the following instructions are not followed
perfectly, you will ALL lose 10 pts before the
class even begins. - Okay? Any questions?
7- Ohthats right, there are no questions allowed
now - JUST ACTION!
8- 1.) Would the person in the third row, third
person come to the front of the room and
distribute a white 3x5 card to everyone in the
class. - You have 1 minute to complete this task.
9- Everyone have a card?
- (If not, you might want to rethink that 10pts I
mentioned earlier) - 2.) On one side of the card write the answer to
the following question
10 11- 3.) On the other side of the card, write the
answer to the other half of this question - What day is it? And why?
- (Do not go back and change any portion of you
answer from the first half.)
12- Thank You
- Pass the cards to the center of each row and then
to the front.
13- What just happened?
- And what does it have to do with Entrepreneurship?
14- What is an entrepreneur?
- What is entrepreneurial thinking?
15Dissecting the Cognition Exercise
- Being ready and alert to opportunity. The role of
an uncertain future and the tension of silence. - The importance of 10 points. The risk of
assumption. - Who is the 3rd person in the 3rd row? Who
decides? - Identifying the guilty. Deciding your fate.
- The window of opportunity (1 minute).
- Value of social networking getting help.
- The need for set thinking. Why it isnt
Tuesday. - When do you see an opportunity to differentiate
yourself. - And Why? This is a clue that maybe a set answer
isnt what we are looking for. - What can you do to recover?
16- Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy
(This exercise was inspired by various measures
found in the work of DeNoble, 2005)
1. work productively under continuous stress,
pressure and conflict. 2. originate new ideas
and products. 3. see new market opportunities
for new products and services. 4. recruit and
train key employees. 5. articulate vision and
values of the organization. 6. react quickly
to unexpected change or failure. 7. inspire
others to embrace the vision and values of the
company. 8. tolerate unexpected changes in
business conditions. 9. react quickly to take
advantage of business opportunities. 10. bring
product concepts to market in a timely manner.
