    disadvantage, mental retardation or emotional
    disturbance

  • Memory (information and instructions)

CHARACTERISTICS
  • Can be a long list but remember
  • No one will have all the characteristics
  • Among certain populations, some characteristics
    are more common than others
  • All people have 2 or 3 of them to some degree
  • The number of characteristics does not indicate
    whether the disability is mild or severe. It is
    more important to see if they are chronic or
    appear in clusters
