US eGrocery Sales Trends Delivery and Pickup
Gain Ground eGrocery sales in the United States
have been on the rise in recent years, as more
and more shoppers are taking advantage of the
convenience and selection that online grocery
shopping can offer. However, eGrocery sales
dipped by 3 in September 2020, compared to the
same month a year prior. This dip can be
attributed to a number of factors, including the
ongoing pandemic and the resulting economic
slowdown. Despite the dip in eGrocery sales,
they are still up nearly 4 when compared to the
third quarter of 2019. This trend is likely to
continue, as more and more shoppers get
accustomed to grocery shopping online. In fact,
around half of all US households have now tried
grocery ecommerce, and of those shoppers, 20
say they would be willing to spend 50 or more of
their grocery budget online. As eGrocery sales
continue to trend upwards, it's important for
retailers to keep an eye on the latest trends in
order to capitalize on this growing market. For
example, delivery and pickup options are
becoming increasingly popular, as shoppers look
for ways to minimize contact with others during
the pandemic. Retailers who offer these services
are likely to see continued success in the
eGrocery space. Click on the below link for more

have been on the rise in recent years, as more
and more consumers seek out convenient,
hassle-free ways to do their grocery shopping.
However, while grocery delivery has seen strong
growth, grocery pickup has struggled to keep
pace. For the third quarter of this year,
grocery pickup MAUs declined by 2 compared to
the same period last year. This suggests that
consumers increasingly prefer delivery over
pickup when it comes to eGrocery
shopping. There are a number of reasons why this
may be the case. First, delivery is simply more
convenient than a pickup, as it allows consumers
to have their groceries delivered right to their
doorstep. Secondly, delivery is often faster than
a pickup, as customers don't need to take the
2
time to drive to the store and wait in line.
Lastly, delivery is often cheaper than pick-up,
as many retailers offer discounts for customers
who choose delivery over the pickup. Whatever the
reason, it's clear that grocery delivery is
becoming the preferred eGrocery option for
consumers.
