either buy a new air conditioner or replace the

THE CAPACITY OF THE AIR CONDITIONER
This is the primary factor you need to pay close
attention to before settling upon a particular
air conditioner. A 1 ton AC room sufficient
enough to cool a room of 140 sq. Ft. or less.
For a room with a floor area between 140 sq. Ft.
to 180sq ft. you should opt for 1.5 ton AC. And
for anything bigger than that, a 2.0 ton AC will
provide efficient cooling. While deciding upon
the capacity of your air conditioner, you should
also pay attention to other important factors
like the height of the ceiling, the climatic
condition, the direction in which the room is
facing, etc. The right size AC apart from
providing efficient cooling also lowers your
energy bills as they consume less electricity
while providing optimal cooling.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Air conditions are notorious for their energy
consumption. An energy efficient model is
imperative if you do not want your electricity
bill to shoot through the roof. The energy
efficiency of an air conditioner is determined
by EER (energy efficiency rating), that has been
standardized in India by the Bureau of Energy
Efficiency (BEE). ACs come with star rating and
more the stars the air conditioner has, the more
energy efficient it will be. Additionally, the
right installation plays a vital role in driving
down an ACs energy consumption.
