WHAT IS AYURVEDA MASSAGE?
2
INTRODUCTION
  • Ayurveda is an Indian holistic health and
wellness system. Its meaning translates as "life
knowledge," and its main emphasis is on achieving
balance and moderation in all aspects of life.
Ayurvedic massage is a deeply relaxing and
soothing experience that combines bodywork, warm
    oils, and music.
  • Ayurveda employs three doshas (Tridoshas) based
on the three elements Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
They represent various aspects of an individual's
personality that must be well balanced in order
    to maintain health.

WHAT IS THE BACKGROUND OF AYURVEDA MASSAGE?
  • Ayurveda is one of the oldest medical systems in
human history, with little change in over 5,000
years. According to Ayurveda philosophy, the mind
and body are linked by an energy flow known as
    Prana.
  • Meditation, yoga, and plant-based nutrition are
also aspects of an Ayurveda lifestyle.

AYURVEDIC MASSAGE METHODS
Ayurvedic massage employs a variety of
techniques, ranging from firm pressure to
delicate strokes and pinching or kneading
motions. They tend to flow in the same direction
as traditional energy channels, which mirror
nerve pathways (and typically correspond to the
direction of hair growth). The relationship
between masseuse and recipient is critical in
this type of treatment, and your therapist may
take a brief meditation before beginning to
gather their own energy. In order to create a
deeper connection, they will try to synchronize
their breathing with yours while performing the
treatment. Your therapist will begin with a
Dosha questionnaire to gain a better
understanding of your unique mind-body
balance. Ayurveda is a broad term that includes
a variety of treatments, including massage.
Ayurvedic Massage treatments are typically guided
by knowledge of the body's marmas and chakras.

MASSAGE OIL WITH AYURVEDIC INGREDIENTS
Touch is only one component of an Ayurvedic
massage, which aims to stimulate the other senses
as well. Oil is an important component of the
procedure because it both soothes the skin and
activates your sense of smell. Wealthy women in
ancient India would take rose baths before being
anointed with sandalwood and jasmine oils. Today,
Ayurvedic massage typically begins with a deeply
moisturizing base, such as sesame or almond oil,
and is then blended with a blend of aromatherapy
oils. Before using, gently warm this.
6
MUSIC FOR AYURVEDIC MASSAGE
During an Ayurvedic massage, your therapist may
play music, typically from Ragas (classical
arrangements) of Indian music. Each of these
melodies is associated with a particular mood or
emotion that your therapist may wish to evoke in
your treatment.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR AN AYURVEDIC MASSAGE?
Ayurvedic medicine is more than just a luxury it
is an experience for both the body and the mind.
It is a gentle treatment that can be tailored to
your specific needs and goals, making it ideal
for those new to massage. If you are pregnant,
have general massage contraindications, or have a
serious illness, consult your doctor before
beginning any massage treatment programme.
