What is an Idiom?
An idiom is a saying whose meaning differs from
the meaning of the individual words.

Example
  • Wanda was tickled pink when she made an A on her
    math test.
  • Tickled Pink means very happy, so the sentence
    means that Wanda was thrilled when she made an A.

Game Rules
  • Divide into 2 teams.
  • Team 1 will read the first sentence that uses an
    idiom.
  • Team 1 will discuss the sentence and identify the
    idiom.
  • If correct, Team 1 gets a point. If the team can
    explain the idioms meaning, another point is
    awarded.
  • If incorrect, Team 2 gets a chance to earn the
    points.
  • Continue until all idioms have been identified.
