3CoVES Expected impact
- Traditional strength of SMEs
- effective and fast internal collaboration and
decision making mostly in small and collocated
engineering team, but - Market requires that collaboration with partners,
customers and suppliers increases and the reach
and scope of activity grows beyond local regions - Agility of SMEs is at risk
- key driver for the competitiveness of companies
mobile technologies for collaboration with
virtual teams
- The CoVES project aims at European strategic
impact in this field on two levels - Improve innovativeness, agility and
competitiveness of European SMEsby making mobile
collaboration technologies available for them.
SMEs often have an even higher benefit from them
than many large companies, but not the resources
for complex or proprietary solutions. - Strengthening European enterprise and
collaboration application providers and mobility
solution providers as innovation champions for
the SME market.
4Collaborative Virtual Engineering Scenario with
Mobility Support
- Overall Target of CoVES is to develop a
- flexible collaboration environment with
- access to rich data and applications
- for nomadic professionals and partners
- targeted towards SMEs
- To this end CoVES will develop
- new working models and functionalities for
effective mobile collaboration - flexible and open service integration
architecture that allows wrapping of enterprise
applications and integration of collaboration
services - user centric client concept especially for mobile
devices - implement a pilot system geared towards the
engineering domain through a user driven
development methodology in two living labs
