Graduation

• Half way your study, say after you collected
  40-50 ects, you should construct your individual
  program, such that it meets the requirements of
  the BIS program. The corresponding form should
  contain
• mandatory courses
• electives
• (choice for a supervisor for the master project)
• signatures of the student and the
  supervisor/expertise leader

Hints

• Start thinking about your graduation project's
  direction as early as possible.
• Relate your choice of electives to this.
• Select an area of expertise.
• Discuss things with potential supervisors based
  on your interests.
• Contact Ad Aerts/Jos Trienekens when you have
  concrete ideas and for further information.
• Manage you own workflow It is your show!(See
  Graduation Regulations on page 92-107)

Homologation (1)

• Some of the Master course may be at a too
  advanced level for people not having the right
  background.
• Pre-master program for polytechnic candidates
  (see Marloes van Lierop for details)
• All "outsiders" (i.e., not a TU/e Bachelor in
  Computer Science or Industrial Engineering)
  should take the course Business Information
  Systems (2II05) as a homologation courses! This
  course just started!
• People with a weak background in programming,
  statistics, or probability theory should work on
  these deficiencies outside of the program (not
  homologation)

Homologation (2)

• Special attention for computer scientists
  Logistics courses!
• Follow "A-C 1CM50 Fundamentals of logistics"
  before "A-C 1CM10 Modeling and analysis of
  manufacturing systems" and "D-F 1CM25 Supply
  chain operations planning".
• It is advised to take the course "2DD21/2DD22
  Pre-master stochastic operations research" as a
  homologation course if you have a weak
  background in mathematics and logistics. See
  http//videocollege.tue.nl for the content of
  this course.

Change is a constant

• The content of the BIS curriculum did not change
  much this year, however, there were many
  practical changes due to the change from the
  trimester to the semester system.
• All of the old mandatory courses have
  corresponding new courses, most of the old
  elective courses have corresponding new courses
  there is more the choose from!
• The transition is done on a case-by-case basis
  (avoid doing the same course twice).
