- Book covers should be used in order to protect
books from damage!
4Medications
- Do you need daily medicine?
Your parent or guardian must bring your medicine
to the school nurse. Include a note with your
name, dosage and dosage schedule.
Someone will certainly take care of you!
5Absences
- All absences, other than school activities, those
accompanied by a doctors excuse or due to out of
school suspension are counted in the total number
of absences allowed. - Bring your doctors excuse within 3 days of your
absence!

6Student Tardiness
Each school has their own procedures for dealing
with tardiness. Generally, students are expected
to be in classes promptly and are not allowed to
be out of class without the permission of the
principal/assistant principal.
7Grades
- A 93-100 Superior Work
- B 84-92 Above Average Work
- C 75-83 Average Work
- D 70-74 Below Average Work
- F 0-69 Failing Work
Your parents will be made aware of your progress
at school through weekly assessment papers and
progress reports!
8Homework
- Homework WILL NOT be assigned on
- Weekends
- Holidays
- Night preceding Statewide Testing Dates

Your teacher will tell you more about this very
important assessment that you will be given in
May!
10Dress Code
- No student will be allowed to wear any clothing
that reveals skin in the midriff area. - Undergarments are meant to be worn under
clothing. They must NOT be visible. - No low-riding pants, excessively baggy pants or
over-sized shirts allowed. - Shoes must be worn at all times!
- No hats, bandanas, visors, or sunglasses!
- No clothing with logos or wording referring to
alcohol, tobacco or drugs!
11Head Lice
- Because head lice are very contagious, they
continue to be a big issue for schools! - They are treatable, but you cannot be at school
while being treated! - Your teacher and/or school nurse will check each
student for head lice periodically!

- GOAL to maintain a safe and orderly climate
where all students feel secure in a positive
learning environment.

13Discipline Ladder
- This is a ladder you DO NOT want to climb!
- Long Form STEP 1
- You may be removed from the ladder after 5 days
with no additional referrals. - However, if misbehavior continues you move up the
ladder to STEP 2 STEP 8 - At each step of the ladder, you may be removed
with no additional referrals! - STEP 8 Possible expulsion from school
REMEMBER You are in control of your actions and
can choose to make the best choices regarding
your behavior at school!
14Unacceptable Behavior
- Possession of radios, cell phones, etc. STEP 1-5
- Misbehavior on school bus STEP 1-8
- Profanity/Vulgarity STEP 1-4
- Destruction of property/vandalism STEP 1-4
- Stealing/Theft/Cheating STEP 2-4
- Use of forged or altered documents STEP 2-6
- Lying to authorities STEP 1-7
- Fighting STEP 4-6
- Possession of weapon (pocket knives too!) STEP

15Suspension
- Dont let yourself get close to the top of the
discipline ladder! - It could lead to suspension.
- Suspension means you cant attend school or any
school activity
16BUS BEHAVIOR
- Riding the bus is a privilege you will be
disciplined and - may be denied bus transportation for the
following - actions
- Smoke or use tobacco in any form
- Fight or tussle
- Strike or threaten the driver in any manner
- Use profanity or make vulgar gestures
- Carry any item that would be considered a weapon
- Make excessive noise

- Do Not
- Throw objects, including paper
- Use or be in possession of any drug violating
drug policy - Distract the driver
- Extend head, hand, arms, other body parts, or
articles from the bus window - Use the emergency exit in normal, non-emergency
situations - Bring unauthorized/potentially dangerous articles
aboard the bus - Be out of seat while the bus is in motion

- Do Not
- Be disrespectful to the driver
- Harass, threaten, pester, or intimidate other
students - Refuse to obey the drivers instructions
- Bring food or drink aboard the bus to be consumed
while on the bus - Have hats, bandanas, visors, sunglasses or other
headwear - Have any electronic devices!
We are serious about bus safety and rules!
19Important Bus Procedure
- You will not be allowed to ride any other bus
other than the bus you regularly ride, unless you
bring your teacher a note from your parent.
It is our responsibility to keep you safe!
20Cafeteria Behavior
- Respect the rights of others in the lunch line
and those that work in the cafeteria. - Sit in assigned areas.
- Return trays so that the table is clean for the
next group of students. - Remember words like thank you and please!
21If I bring my lunch, what can I bring?
- No carbonated drinks, please.
- Everything in a lunch bag or plain wrapper no
McDonalds, Taco Bell, etc. bags or wrappers - Check out www.mynutrikids.com.
22Office/Classroom Phone
- Students will not be allowed to use school or
classroom phones except in case of an emergency
(illness or need of lunch money). - You will not be allowed to call home for missing
materials or homework!
23Remember!
- You have a school counselor that you can go to if
you have a problem at home or at school. - Counselors are good listeners and will not share
with others what you tell them.
