What is the IATF 16949 certification?

• IATF 16949 Certification is the International
  Standard developed by IATF as the criteria of
  compliance for Quality Management System
  requirements for Automotive Supply Chain. This
  standard is based on ISO 9001 requirements and
  customer specific requirements of the automotive
  sector. URS is a recognized body from SMMT (one
  of the IATF oversight) for IATF 16949
  certification. IT  ensures that the quality
  management system requirements of automotive
  production that includes design, development,
  production, fabrication, assembly and
  installation, is effective and consistent
  throughout the automotive supply chain.

How to get certified?

• There are several guidelines that industries
  require to get IATF 16949 certification. However,

  subsidiary of the ISO 9001 certification, you

  ISO 9001.  
• However, that does not mean you have to get ISO
  certification also again but you have to take
