Title: Things you need to know about LMPC Certificate
1Things you need to know about
LMPC Certificate
2The laws and regulations of weights and
measures are established and enforced by the
Legal Metrology Act. Since it compels packers,
dealers, and especially e-commerce enterprises
dealing with packaged goods to register and
comply, the principal legislation governing
packaged goods, as well as rules relevant to
numerous areas including national standards,
model approvals, numeration, has a broad
impact. To encourage moral business practises and
safeguard consumers' rights, the Act specifies
regulations for product packaging. Additionally,
it specifies the weight and dimension limitations
for packed goods. The Act also details the
disclosure requirements, procedures, and
obligations. Each state's department of legal
metrology, a division of the department of
consumer affairs, is in charge of carrying out
the Act's administration.
3Role of LMPC Certificate for Importers
Trades must file an application to the state's
Controller of Legal Metrology before importing
pre-packaged goods for sale or distribution. The
applicant will receive the LMPC certificate in
India if the application is accepted by the
authorities. A LMPC certificate in India has a
one-year expiration date and has five-renewal
limits. You must first seek a licence from the
state's controller if you intend to sell the
things in that state. Similar to this, you must
register with the director at the Centre via your
regional controller if you want to sell in more
than one state.
