Writing an Expository Paragraph

• You have done a survey to collect information
  about jobs people do in our community. Use your
  Write On Track handbook to read about the basic
  parts of a paragraph on pp. 56-57. You will see
  an example of a topic sentence, the body, and the
  closing sentence. (See p. 60 for a model of an
  expository paragraph.
• THINK OF YOUR PARAGRAPH AS A HAMBURGER!

• Think of an interesting statement or question to
  create the beginning for your paper.

• Write complete sentences giving details about
  this job in a clearly organized manner. Include
  all the important key points as part of the
  body.

Step 3- The Bottom Bun.

• Your last sentence should restate in your own
  words what the paragraph was about or give the
  reader one last idea to think about. (Example
  The jobs people do are very important for the
  people who live in a community.)
